Very nice indeed, I especially like the 'secret' drawer in the centre.

Just out of interest how many hours work goes into producing a piece like this?

Looks awesome, I agree door knobs are too big, but other handles look good. That glass makes a big difference from the first pictures, really adds to appearance :eusa-clap:

Very nice Paul! :eusa-clap: :eusa-clap:

The handles just dont do it for me.

What type of glass did you fit in the doors? Looks like hand made stuff?

I like the draw handles but those door knobs are too big.

Very nice job, love the yew.
Also like the filing drawers ranged that way around, no inaccessible files "at the back". I had to turn filing drawers round like that on a desk a few years back due to lack of width and have become a fan of the arrangement.
Cheers !

Pro photo shoot!

The glass is interesting is it handmade?

Handles are a funny one, sometimes I say to customers picking ...

'Knobs n Handles can make or break a piece, and it's very much a personal detail, so choose wisely'

...though it can, and has backfired... I went back to a piece to fit the handles to a piece I'd made nearly 2 years before... It still had the temporary blue masking tape tabs on the doors, poor lass just couldn't decide, she certainly saw it through all the seasons

Still loving the yew and ebony, a master's touch!

Thanks Will 8-) The middle drawer was an accident. The lady was one pull handle short so I suggested leaving out the middle drawer so it looks like a fixed panel - works really well. I didn't keep an account on how many hours this project took, and I made it in stages between other jobs. To keep within budget, it was made using simple joints and I bought in good quality pine furniture board from a company in London instead of laminating the boards myself - big saving on labour cost. In all, I reckon you're looking at 80-90 hours including the finish.

Thanks Phil 8-) The glass is 'Willow' and yep, it's hand finished using a rake.

Thanks David 8-) Yes, it works very well this way and like you say, no lost or derailed files at the back.

Thanks Jim 8-) Yep, the glass is 'Willow' and finished by hand using a rake. Totally agree with you - the old handle situation can enhance the piece or ruin it. Aww poor lass :P
