It looks very nice. I’ve made similar “hooks” myself for tools using parts of branches. It does however look incredibly dangerous as it is. For safety’s sake I would turn a ball for each end lest someone walk into it sans hats.

Valid comment Woodster - cheers. The ends are above my eye level and I'm almost 6' tall.

I was considering an addition to support the hats more adequately, without thinking safety as I don't see the ends as dangerous - perhaps another twiggy bit with a curvature to suit the Fed and Boater. But, you've just given me an idea now....
