The bottom of my router table is a storage area (cavity)
I keep the second router there as well as the jigsaw, drill, electric hand planer and the two sanders.
And also the dowel jig, and cases with the various screwdriver bits etc.
The problem I have is that when I need something, I have to go down on one knee (the good one) or sit on the floor (got to get up again!) to get it out.
So I decided that a slide out draw would be ideal.
The base is made from some chipboard and I had some old draw slides to fit underneath.
Fitting the slides
Slides fitted with some gutter bolts
To be able to bolt the slides down, I needed access to the bottom of the cabinet. The whole construction is quite heavy so it needed some jacking up.
Test fitting the draw base
Tightening the bolts on the slides, again just used gutter bolts
Fitted and working
This is the front that will be screwed on last, with some corner pieces for stability.
Cheers
