child's chair

Anyone got a recommendation for a finish for an oak child's chair that will not poison the little nibbler if he does decide to try and take a lump out of it? i'm after a clear finish to show the wood.

I used some chestnut HWO for a similar job a few years back and the two kids are still living!
The tin says toy safe on it.

I used chestnut finishing oil on chairs I made for my grandchildren, it was before they did the hard wax oil. I have used the hard wax oil on oak and it looks good, would now be my choice if I were doing the chairs again.

just mix pepper in with the finish .. they wont chew it then ! lol :lol:
