Your favourite listenings......

Hang up your Chisels and Plane blades and take a load off with a recently turned goblet of your favourite poison, in the lounge of our Gentlemen's (and ladies) Club.

Sorry Mark, I rather assumed that because DP had hits before you were born that you would not be too familiar.

:) No need to apologise. Elvis died when I was only 1 but I love his music, and that of Queen. Comes from having a mum who listened to all that stuff when I was young.

Mrs Malc 2098 bought me the box set.

I find it quite relaxing and uplifting at the same time when working in the garage or doing the DIY.

It will be on the MP3 player and Bluetooth speaker when I eventually build my shop!

http://www.hyperion-records.co.uk/dc.asp?dc=D_CDA66868

They're all on there, Housewives' Choice, Dick Barton, Children's Favourites, The Archers, In Town Tonight, Dr Findlay's Casebook and loads more!

For those of you who like steam, try the sample of Track 16 - Coronation Scot!

I could mention Wilfred Pickles and workers playtime from the light programme broadcast days and Saturday club on a s morning being the first programme on radio to feature new fangled pop music in the late 50s

But I'm just an old fart!

Can I join your old farts' club?!!

Give him the money, Mabel!

I went to a recording of Easy Beat in the 60s with my sister. Helen Shapiro was TOTB!

Crikey Roger, that's a bit harsh ain't it Chap! But fair dooos - nowt like being straight to the point. I'm not familiar with any of Karl Jenkins' other work, but I do like 'The Armed Man', and I was merely sharing an experience - albeit a luney tuney one.

Hmmm, it's got a bit busy here in the last 24 hours - nice!

Now then, how about this to tickle those taste buds...

Can you dig it.... Right on.... This guy Shaft is a bad mudda........

Been avoiding this thread as I was worried I would end up being rude about somebody's favourite, but looked in and actually found somebody had posted something I like - any song more than 3 minutes long was a waste of vinyl

Now if I only knew how to post a YouTube clip I could load up some complete rubbish nobody else would like, but it would remind me of my youth...

Just hover your mouse over the YouTube button when you post a topic Terry, there's a yellow box pops up with full instructions…

Thanks for trying Mark, but no mouse on my iPad and when I tap the youtube button it adds some square bracket stuff on the post, have tried pasting a URL between them and no joy. So you are all safe from my questionable taste

Postby TrimTheKing » 28 Sep 2016, 13:22

Ah okay. So it's easy, press the YouTube button, then when it adds in the square brackety stuff you need to copy ONLY the random selection of numbers and letters AFTER the = in the YouTube URL and paste between the brackety bits and bingo!

I can't stand on one leg as long as he does! I have trouble standing on two....especially after a pint or two of Old Thumper!

Met him once; I handled his transfer of firearms certificates when he moved off my patch. He had loads!

Heard this on the radio just now. Impressed my girls with a perfect rendition, hadn't heard it for years and brings back some memories.

I doubt he can stand on one leg that long now. I saw them after Ian had to pull out of some concerts due to thrombosis, he spent a lot more time sat down, very little of the usual jumping about.

I did get accused of being him. We were at the Cropredy Festival, a few years ago, much to the embarrassment to the LOML I was wearing my hunting pink when a girl approached and said her sister thought I was Ian. I told her I was a big fan but not the man himself. Later, Ian did appear as a special guest, it was hinted at on the web site, we were sure that after that the girls did not believe that I was not Ian.
Regards,
Dave
