Your favourite listenings......

Hang up your Chisels and Plane blades and take a load off with a recently turned goblet of your favourite poison, in the lounge of our Gentlemen's (and ladies) Club.

Very good Mark - I don't mind a bit of Northern Soul.

I think I made a bit of a joke about this one somewhere on the forum a while back - If I Were A Carpenter.

All those old Cortina Mk2's and other old motors in the vid - lovely. 8-)

Who has the range out of these four legends? I know who I think.

I got very excited when I first noticed this title... thinking these guys were on the same stage at the same time, but NO!!

Yo Paul, If I were a Carpenter got right into my soul in the 60s, and the original by Tim Hardin is soulful.

Just listen to that 12 string picking.

A wonderful version of Schubert's 'Ave Maria' vocally performed by Andrea Bocelli in what looks like the Colosseum, Rome.

Very cool

As far as the great old composer's requiems go, Gabriel Faure's is up there.

Here's a snippet (used in the last episode of Morse - The R - something - can't remember on tip of tongue) and then all of it - a bit long but worth the listen.

If you want two hours of non-stop mixed '80's music then this on iPlayer is worth a go

http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b085hbx1

Luckily only a limited amount of Sara Cox.

The '80s had some great music. I was down the gym the other morning and they'd stuck on Radio 1...jeez, it went on and on and on and on with a monotonous thump..thump..thump. Rather stick my head inside a metal bucket and get someone to belt the outside.

This video was made on Studland Beach, Dorset.

I told Mrs P this once as we were walking the beach - very cool indeed. 8-)
