wifey takes her mum out every week to the boot and hall sales.
sometimes she brings back something useful !
we have an old house, circa 1800 .. so we have all sorts of odds and ends about cluttering up the place ! lol

this "thing" has us stumped ??

anyone know what it is ??

it's approx 13" long

sort of like a spoon, but the inside is not polished.

one end bigger then the other ...

not a shoe horn either, as there is a lip on the end ...

any ideas ?

The general shape is a bit similar to the tools model locomotive builders make to load coal into their boilers but I can't think why one would be double ended.
Two separate ones of different sizes maybe but .....

Google image search says it is a "tool" - not too helpful but not bad for a computer eh?

Is it a "spoon" for smoothing old leather boots? I have never used one but have been told about them. You heat it up and then use it to iron the leather before applying spit and polish.
