Wish you were here

Hang up your Chisels and Plane blades and take a load off with a recently turned goblet of your favourite poison, in the lounge of our Gentlemen's (and ladies) Club.

Wish you were here

Disappointed to find this thread isn't about one of the classic (in my view the very best) Pink Floyd albums. Ho hum....... ;)

One of the beauties of Northumberland is that you generally have large parts of it to yourself.

Now, can we talk about Pink Floyd?

Yep definitely one of their best, I've recently started listening to Absolute Classic Rock radio at work as it plays a lot of the kind of music I like including Pink Floyd which is rare on the radio these days.

Mission Control has organised a family holiday in a large house up there because the family are spread between Aberdeen, London, Bristol and Cheshire!!

We can stop at Bristol and Chester on the way up!!

If you're passing Hadrian's Wall, pop in for a cuppa.

Four weeks without any significant rain. Temperature warner than the South. The new Riviera.
If opportunity doesn't knock, build a door.

That's the thing with The North Rog, few weeks of dry and sun and it's fantastic, then the rains come again until you're just about to snap and move house, then the sun shines again… ;)

Love it!

Hope it's as glorious up here as it is today for you Malc, full sun & not a cloud in the sky, not that I'm seeing much of it laying flooring in a windowless hallway :? At least the beer is good up here :D

Dunno about that but there's a lack of lager, the 3 pubs I've been in so far have copious hand pulled beers but only a couple of lager pumps  not that I'm complaining just unusual as it's the other way round in pubs in my neck of the woods :obscene-drinkingcheers:

So I'm not the only one who thought this was a Pink Floyd thread. The boss and I will be walking St Oswalds Way, from Lindisfarne to Hexham, in September, a distance of about 100 miles. It's a glorious stretch of coast.

Mike - as a PF fan, if you get the opportunity to go and see Brit Floyd, they are the best tribute band going, and now the nearest you'll get to the real thing. https://youtu.be/ZJtZHXUoPz8

Who'd a thought thirty years ago we'd all be sittin' here drinking Chateau de Chassilier wine?
Aye. In them days, we'd a' been glad to have the price of a cup o' tea.
A cup ' COLD tea.
Without milk or sugar.
OR tea!
In a filthy, cracked cup.
We never used to have a cup. We used to have to drink out of a rolled up newspaper.
The best WE could manage was to suck on a piece of damp cloth.
