another forum I've seen just shows the thumbnails, and you have to click for the full image.
They also have subscription levels .. free .. you get adverts .. paid you don't etc.

Yeah I've seen those. I'd rather show the image in its entirety.

Dinner is looking good, Mrs P is happy making her new toys, I now have a brew and feel quite excited about the prospect of transferring images from my website. I'm not sure if I can do what you did Rich with a sub page image - I'll go and have another tinker around. 8-)

Cheers Andy, getting there matey! 8-)

The old yellow banana was an exciting motor full of character and she sounded divine with that 3 litre flat six blurbering behind the cab. When the skin was off during those summer evenings, oh boy, just heaven. 8-)

A big big regret of my life so far was selling it. I allowed emotions to sell it impulsively.

I took the image location from the page source code/inspect element .. whatever it shows as on your setup / browser etc.. it isn't difficult. But could change from image to image, depending on how you upload them, and what site builder you are using.

I'm not convince you can't use FTP (which means File Transfer Protocol btw) , which is basicaly like using your web space as a memory stick/memory card etc.

feel free to PM me

Nope, I'm snookered on this one ole boy. :P

I'm clicking on a thumbs and then right clicking on the image and then clicking on Inspect in the menu. Lots of googlyjargon then appears to the right of the image. I was looking at it when Mrs P walks into the room, so I tried to air a persona of confidence - she's ex grammar school you see. I didn't think she noticed what I was doing, when I heard a voice behind me say, "Do you know what you're doing?"

Nope, I can cook a darn good roast dinner, but 'Inspect Elements' are not that chummy with me. :|

I did all mine today, about 1500. Arrived as zip files possibly about 300MB.

One useful thing is that when unzipped they have as part of the file name, the random string used in the IMG links. So if you do have or want to rebuild a PB sabotaged thread on the forum, then you can search for that string and match the photo to the original posting.

I have always been a bit to eager when uploading to PB so although I do have a few folders, most are in the library folder. The iMac is no better. I will arrange them into folders folders then download sorting out the carp as I go.
I do not think therefore I do not am.

Andy, be aware that if you move them within PB the file names will change and any possible link between what you download and your posting will be lost.

Yeah I know but being as the images are not visible on the threads anyway. To start with I am only going to re post images from the most recent threads just on the off-chance that someone does actually want to see them. It should be easy enough to identify visually which photos go with which thread.

And I still have to nail my flag to a new image host.
I do not think therefore I do not am.

I emailed one saying I was considering using them and asking about their premium paid service and they came back giving me a free premium account.

I don't know how long for but I might well go with them.

Their name? That's a secret

Rich, you are right - turntable from the train set.

Pop-ups not too bad, at least it's not porn.

Free hosting - I looked at Wix which also does 'free hosting' but it did not give me what I wanted, will have a look again.

Quoting Roger " there is no such thing as a free lunch " and Wix must make it's money somewhere, unless they have a large volume of paid subscribers.

I see my PB pics are still visible.
Maybe because I downsize everything before uploading? Therefore traffic size not big enough to flag my account and block it?

Cheers Bob, I've just had a quick look at some of the images in the two files I've downloaded so far from PB and yep sure enough - this will be very useful. I think I'll only replace the photos in the WIP thread I'm currently building. It's going to be quite a long task to replace all those images. :|

I started a blog with Wix a few months back and I found their site extremely slow, but they use fun slogans when moving around the site, like; "Hang on in there, good vibes are coming your way."

I seem to be in the same boat Mark with my PB still working.
Either they are taking a while to go through all accounts, or maybe one server at a time?
Or it is possible given the uproar of forums across the www, they are reconsidering?

Paul, I wanted to re-do my site without having to go through learning stuff like CSS.

Also WIX is an online developer which does not suit me.

Doing it on my laptop, testing and then publishing is a lot easier for me personally.
