Chatting to the guys down the pub last night, the news was all about some chap who came up to the area on holiday and fell in love with a derelict farm and paid £600k for it. No water. No phone. No electricity. Not a problem, you say, just need deep pockets perhaps ?
Think again. Apart from being down an impossibly steep slope that even 4 x4's have difficulty escaping, it sits on Protected Land....ie a few stones around these parts that seem to go on forever So absolutely zero chance of running in mains water. Or electric. Or a phone. Wind turbines out, for certain.
So...ooops. And I thought we were daft buying the House in the Bog.
