Driving from Dorset to Southern Spain.

Hang up your Chisels and Plane blades and take a load off with a recently turned goblet of your favourite poison, in the lounge of our Gentlemen's (and ladies) Club.

I think Spain doesn’t require them anymore but a useful bit of kit anyway.

Unless I am mistaken although you must carry a set of bulbs there is no requirement to carry the tools needed to replace them.
I do not think therefore I do not am.

I believe you are correct Andy. No one said that the laws were sensible or useful!

This is what I read

https://www.rac.co.uk/drive/travel/country/spain/

An embarrassing incident caused by the fear of hijacking was when I ignored the flashing lights of a car behind me for several miles until I pulled into a busy filling station.
Earlier we had stopped for a break and had unknowingly driven off with a set of keys left in the rear hatch lock.
The kind motorist was trying to tell me so but with the warnings of “don’t stop for anyone it could be hijackers” embedded in my brain I had ignored him.

Spain is the only country where a pickpocket gang targetted me (and LOML). They got nowt.

Thanks chaps. Halfords spare bulb kit is £15 - just the job. 8-)

Another question if you don't mind... :P

I'm going to book hotels with free Wi-fi so I can post stuff up onto this thread during the trip. I might be taking the iPad with me, but if there are any issues with it, I shall use my phone. Do I have to install the Taptalk thingy - not sure if I got this right? I better also try and get familiar with the new in-house photo up loader as well - plenty of time though.

Paul,

My iPad doesn't have a sim card. I use my iPhone as a wifi hotspot. Works just as well.

But if there's a free wifi signal, then I just use that.

I've lived in Spain for 16 years and never been asked by traffico for a light bulb kit, what they want to see is ID, so your passport and drivers licence.
Your not going to break down, but the drivers that do, put a triangle out on the road and put on a hi vi vest, this is law and common sense in a mountainous country there the roads are a series of bends.
Generally the road cops in Spain (traffico) are a little bit more humane than there British college's.

On a completely different thread....do you make table's?
Might be able to organise a commision for you.
A good client of mine has asked me to design something and basically I don't have the time as I'm over committed for the next 4 month's
It will be something Edwardian/ Georgian with a modern twist......
If your interested my email is info@fineinteriorwoodwork.com

ps. You should love it here, Southern Spain is full of eccentric people, there's a guy in Marbella with geraniums growing on the dashboard of his Rolls Royce ..... unfortunately he's not one of my client's

Thanks Jonathan, yep, the old Saab is pretty good to go, although I need to get a couple of small jobs done before we venture off - all part of the prep work prior to The Great Drive Of 2018. :D

Yes absolutely, I'm always interested in new projects. I'll send over an email - thanks again. 8-)

I've just had a quick look at your website - beautiful work! 8-)

Yes, sorry Malc - not a pretty sight! :| I don't think I've ever owned a pair of speedos.
