York, Vikings and wood.

Hang up your Chisels and Plane blades and take a load off with a recently turned goblet of your favourite poison, in the lounge of our Gentlemen's (and ladies) Club.

York, Vikings and wood.

Evening all, well morning it seems!

This evening we returned from a most excellent long weekend in York to visit the finale of the Viking Festival and celebrate TrimTheQueen’s (Mrs Trimble) Birthday.

Part of the reason for this particular location, aside from it being a beautiful City steeped in history, is that our daughter is doing Vikings as her project this year in school so it seemed like a great opportunity.

As well as Jorvik Centre we took in a number of museums and places of interest and as is this forum’s wont I snapped many interesting wooden stuffs.

It’s late and I need to be up in 5.5 hours for a train to London so I won’t go into details right now but if you want any more info on anything just shout up.

Excellent Mark. That's a wonderful roof, with aisle posts. Lovely.

York - one of my favourite places though I am a bit biased being a Yorkshireman.
