Peaky Blinding!

Hang up your Chisels and Plane blades and take a load off with a recently turned goblet of your favourite poison, in the lounge of our Gentlemen's (and ladies) Club.

Peaky Blinding!

Postby TrimTheKing » 23 Feb 2018, 01:34

Don’t know if any of you have watched Peaky Blinders but I’ve just watched it through for the second time so SWMBO could watch it.

Really great drama, violent but so, so cleverly written and manages to turn some very nasty people into loveable anti-heroes.

I would definitely recommend it to anyone who likes a cleverly written drama and doesn’t mind some violence.

I went for a few pints at my mate’s garden bar this evening and one of the lads was sporting a flat cap in the Peakies style so I gave it a whirl. I like the look so might have to grab myself one!

Not sure how much longer the beard is going to last though...

My wife doesn’t like the series and I cannot be bothered to try to watch it online. Nice hat though, just the job for the next few days.

BBC4 repeated it from the start and I now have it recorded. Nearly through series 2. It's good but hasn't become compulsive viewing. Could take a while to get through the rest.

Don't cut yourself on the cap :)

For someone as follically challenged as you Mark, I am surprised that you have not seen the advantages of keeping the bonce warm at this tme of year.
I have been wearing a Dunn and Co Rutland County cap since I bought my first convertible back in 1979. I also have a plain blue cloth cap for more dressier occasions.
I do not think therefore I do not am.

Oh don't you worry, I keep my exposed follicles well and truly toasty under a woollen hat at all times when the temps are low, this was just a thought on an addition to my small titfer collection.

I've gotta hand it to you Marcus, you're a cool dude chap. 8-)

Mind you, if I saw you walking towards me in an underpass, I think my ar$e cheeks would slightly clench and I'd be looking for that glint of a possible razor sown into the peak.

I've seen every episode of Peaky Blinders - love it.

Based on a true gang in Birmingham from the late 1800's through to about 1910.

This is a young member of the gang - Harry Fowler.

And this is one of the senior members - Thomas Gilbert.

Nice hat, you’ll need a nice new jacket like Paul’s to go with that!
