Escape to the Chateau

I always thought that Strawbridge was a bit of a prat and the last episode confirmed it.

Take one period property in France. A lovely chateau. Crumbling render on the outside. And what does he repair it with ? The correct lime mortar ? Nah....cement mortar. All over. Idiot.

Ha... I've been enjoying this quirky show with Mrs M... But yes that part was all a bit slap dash and bad bodge

I wanna know how much he was paid for the series and all that free advertising. Do you remember his first foray into TV with Scrapheap Challenge and his series on Being Green?
I do not think therefore I do not am.

cheers

I so much want to enjoy this series, but whilst he and his wife aren't quite annoying, they're close enough, and dippy enough that I just can't get all the way through a programme.

I agree, the first couple of series were quite entertaining but we haven't bothered with the current programmes. I'm the same as Andy...I'd love to know how much they were paid for the series and I also sincerely hope their kids know how to swim - Rob

I haven’t watched any of these so cannot really comment. There’s been lots of similar programmes on TV over the years.
This is Dick’s second family, he started off with an earlier one back in Cornwall?? being self sufficient, which spawned into other series with his son.

We're having a bet as to when her hair falls out after all that dyeing.

I'm not really into Arts and Crafts but she does have some good ideas. I can't stand Strawbridge.

Not sure if anyone has seen the trailers yet but it appears that they are starting a new series next week ‘helping’ others that have also bought a chateau I think it’s called escape to the chateau DIY
