Bespoke furniture

Mrs Malc and myself popped over to the next town to a garage sale where an elderly couple were downsizing. Among a few things I bought was this.

Afterwards, we stopped at a little nearby bistro where the furniture was bespoke. :)

Nice gauge, one of my favourites.

I’ve got a newish Japanese one whose adjustments are a nightmare to use by comparison.

I think I was really lucky. The gent had an old Kity table saw, a lathe up the garden workshop which I didn't go to see, and a lot of small hand tools. I also bought an Xacto boxed model knife set with three stainless handles, a 1/8th" chisel (like my woodwork teacher had at school) and a two drawer filing cabinet all for £10.

I’ve got an Xacto set somewhere that belonged to my father.
