I Couldn’t Resist

I don’t know how they do it but I bought a digital temperature probe, from China, for the princely price of £1.50 including postage:

Including battery too and it works!

I take it from the sharp probe that it's not the rectal sort! :o

er no we have a non-contact one from ALDI for that function.
It’s for testing food temperature when cooking on the barbecue etc. I have a Swiss Rototherm one we used for testing Blacktop many years ago but this is a bit neater.

I am surprised that it came with the battery, the last couple of things I bought from China came without batteries. It would seem so carriers do not allow batteries to be posted anymore.
Useful looking bit of kit you have there.
Regards,
Dave
My tool kit is almost complete, only a few more to get.

I think that the Chinese Govt subsidises the postage costs. Still a bargain.

It does make you wonder about how they can manufacture and post a product half way around the world for less than than the cost to post it in the UK and apparently no VAT or import duties. No wonder America is getting upset, Walmart in America imported $49 Billion of goods from China last year.

Our Government claims we have reduced our CO2 output but some have calculated that we have actually increased it as we have just outsourced its production to low cost countries that have a high percentage of their power from coal such as China.

So before our beloved leaders catch on to what is going on we should buy whatever we can before they start taxing it.

Looks a nice thermometer, I am tempted.

Not to mention of course, the CO2 produced by the aircraft (if it's flown to Europe) or the diesel emissions from the ship if it comes over the 'ogin' - Rob

You were robbed Rod!

This one

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Kitchen-Elec ... SwR29ZECxY

is £1 post free or make an offer

However no battery included but they tend to be 10 for a £1 on the 'bay

That looks like a good deal. I certainly paid a lot more for the one I have. Going to be barbequeing by the seat of my pants tomorrow using a grill and charcoal I've never used before and no thermometer. Have to remember how to do it the old fashioned way. :D
