Seasonal Greetings.

Hang up your Chisels and Plane blades and take a load off with a recently turned goblet of your favourite poison, in the lounge of our Gentlemen's (and ladies) Club.

Seasonal Greetings.

Hello Chaps,

I hope all is well with you fine woody fellas. Can I still write ‘fellow woodworkers’....? Hmmm... :eusa-think:

I’ve done nothing in the home workshop yet - it’s been a dumping ground for the last three months. Just haven’t had the time due to working long hours in my new coach driving career! I have been popping in to the forum here & there as a guest to see how projects are going and they’re absolutely marvellous! It’s good to see you chaps are in full swing of things.

Right then... let’s talk about me now.... doobydoobydum... :eusa-dance: :eusa-dance:

Well, Christmas is upon us again! Where does the time go I ask myself?

For the first time ever, I am taking time off for Christmas and.... wait for it.... yep... I’m getting paid for it - woohoooo! Oh yes, most pleasing! Finished for Chrimbo today.

I did start designing a desk for myself just before starting my new job – 3 months ago. I will post it up soon. So, the new job...... Yep, 3 months in and I’m absolutely loving it. I’ve been driving some lovely people to some interesting places including SS Great Britain, Bristol, Bletchley Park, Milton Keynes, some National Trust & English Heritage sites etc... more recently, Christmas shoppers to Bath, Bristol, Cardiff and quite a few London Heathrow trips - driving a coach from terminal to terminal through the mania of the whole complex is a buzz. I enjoy the company of the passengers too and have had some really good laughs with them, plus some very nice tips!! ;)

I’ve been hitting some 70+ hour weeks, all within the legalities of EU Drivers’ Hours of course - a complex structure: I feel for the operations team who organise and allocate the work to drivers within the strict rules of EU Drivers’ Hours. It’s a nightmare for them most of the time – poor chaps. But, they’re on excellent salaries. I shall be on my first continental tour to Switzerland this February. This will be a two man job, mainly because from Dover to the Swiss ski resort will be a non-stop drive. I shall be co-driving with one of the elite tour drivers – can’t wait. 8-)

Anyway, I hope all you chaps are well and in good spirit for this festive season.

I had been wondering so thanks for the update Paul. Try and get your bosses to run some D-Day beach tours and I’ll join you for a coffee.
I do not think therefore I do not am.

cheers

My hands are too soft to go into the workshop, what with all the washing up I've done!

And the turkey was sat on the table saw since I picked it up yesterday morning.

But it's in a warmer place now!

It's the first Christmas for two years that we haven't been in the middle of packing. 2016 - packing to leave our home. 2017 - packing to leave the rental.

Bit of a relief TBH
