Fixing LED panels

For those of you with experience of them could they be hung from a single central point? Not sure how this would be achieved, nor how close they could get to the ceiling.

My underground garage has about 6” of polystyrene insulation ( I know the fire risk) under a concrete ceiling so using the existing fixngs for the fluorescent tubes would preferable.

Andy,

The ones I bought from Denman's had little loops screwed on to the frames.

I am lucky that I have an OSB ceiling, so I added keyring to the lips, and screwed cup hooks into the ceiling and they hang there about 2.5cm below the ceiling, so they have air all around them.

I have seen others that have no loops or fixings at all. If you could find some that are supplied with those loop fixings, I'm sure you could rig some wire from your original light fitting fixing points.

Andy, mine didn't have any fixings to speak of and so I simply rebated some timber, drilled some screw holes through it to the ceiling and the LED panel simply laid on the lips.

The temperature isn't that hot.

How many of these 600x600 panels would provide adequate lighting for a 4mx3m workshop?

It's about 4.5m from that SCMS to the cupboards on the left. Three panels above. I'd go for two rows of three.

My OS dimensions are 5.5m x 3.5m.

I have a ridged roof/ceiling. I have 2 each side of the ridge over the central area. I am looking to add one at each end under the tie beams.

I think maybe 2 down the centre then for me and on over my workbench. Do these just wire into a lighting circuit? Never installed any LED panels

Yes...they each have a driver...those blocks screwed to the ceiling in Malcolm's photo

So I take 1.5mm cable into a junction box that feeds the drivers then comes back out to suppley the next panel?

Using a junction box like this?:

Yes, I think my sparks insisted on a junction box something like that so all wires are crimped.
