Greenhouse news - some good, some bad

Hang up your Chisels and Plane blades and take a load off with a recently turned goblet of your favourite poison, in the lounge of our Gentlemen's (and ladies) Club.

Greenhouse news - some good, some bad

Postby chataigner » 05 Nov 2019, 12:18

Just been to pick some of the last toms in my polytunnel. Quite a few still OK - that's the good news. The bad news is that last night's gale has ripped the cover in a big way. In the past I've repaired one or two rips that run in the length of the tunnel using roofing battens as extra supports and stapling a overlapping patch, but this rip is around the curve...

A new cover isn't all that expensive but it's a huge job to fit and needs to be done in warm weather so that the poly is flexible which suggests I may have to live with the damage until the spring.
Cheers !
