Avatar issues

Postby Malc2098 » 09 Feb 2024, 14:21

Gents, I've been try to update my avatar. I've selected an image 105 x 78 pixels which Preview tells me is 8kb.

Screenshot 2024-02-09 at 13.17.42.png
(110.75 KiB)

(10.76 KiB)

But our software says it's 10.76kb.

And I'm still being told that the image should be less than 9kb.

If I make it any smaller, it'll disappear through the soundhole! ;)

Can you advise, please.

Thanks, Robert. I suppose Preview would have let me reduce the size even further, but I was getting confused with the conflicting figures each time I tried to upload a smaller image.

BTW, I've replied to your good question on my build wip thread.

Thanks Malcolm. I've been a bit tied up and only just picked up your email and photo.
can I assume that Robert's version is OK for your use now?

Cheers

I saw and read your detailed reply Malc thanks.

I just dragged your small picture into paintshop pro x and saved it again using the optimise option and it said less than 4k and looked the same so job done.
