While talking about a bid on Ebay Andy made the point earlier that WH2 is open to all, not just members and, while that seems appropriate for most things, now and then it would be good to post only for members. Would it be difficult to have a members only space ?
Cheers !

David, What uses would you see for this?
We attract members by letting them use the forum on a read only basis and then if they want to post, they have to join.
The current exceptions to this are that they cannot read the for sale and wanted areas.

My personal feeling is that we would not want to have a members only area that duplicates any of the boards we already have as assuming people stay on topic (a big assumption) there would potentially be two places where a subject area might get covered.
many other forums make their "pub" board visible to members only and I'm sure that this is quite feasible.
(says he looking to Mark  )

Would that suit your needs David?

Cheers

Bob

I was thinking about drawing attention to special deals or things on ebay for example - but as you say, if the for sale and wanted area is members only (I didnt realise) that would do fine.
Cheers !

Drawing attention to ebay auctions is strictly forbidden in the rules as this could inflate the price and act against other members interests.

Even asking "what is your opinion of this ebay item" type questions can be dangerous to the existing interested parties as it could start a bidding war and possible bad feeling.I realise bids on ebay are anonymous now but still scope for an awkward situation to arise. Hence the rule.

Pointing out special deals of a fixed price nature is no problem and can only lead to benefits to members.

Cheers
