Here's a piece based on a cabinet from Sweden in the mid-1800s. The original piece is painted pine. The center drawer is actually a door hinged on the right. The radiused edges on the top and bottom as well on the front corners give this piece a rather modern look. I think the style would still work today.

Straightforward Dave. Should suit me. (Of limited skills).

I live in a fairly small house, so most furniture I make has to be low, which gives the illusion of space, due to seeing more of the walls! So if I made something like this it would be low and long(ish)! :D
