SketchUp printout 1:1

Postby RogerS » 11 Mar 2021, 17:42

Using SU 2021. I've set it up according to the attached but it wants to use 24 pages! I've hit zoom extents to see if there is anything outside my screen view but nothing. Just see the model on the screen. Overall dimensions of the diagram are only 700mm x 700mm

Would suggest that there's something out there on the bounds of +/-14691 (X or Y depending on orientation )and +/-709 Z axis.

Have you tried deselecting everything and just selecting the model and printing?

I don't use 2021 myself still 2017 for me.. too webish for me ;)

Just in case you don't get an answer from a sketchup user - faced with similar software misbehaviour in the past, I have "printed" to a pdf virtual printer, then opened the multiple page pdf and printed just the page I wanted.

Do you have a print to PDF option? If so, do that and see whether it produces any clues. If that turns out to be half blank pages and you can't see what's made it decide it needs to be that size, then you can always take the resulting PDF and selectively print the pages with the bits you need on them.

I've forgotten how to print SU 1 to 1, but I remember it was a bit non intuitive, or a bit of a bugger as they say where I come from.

Anyway, I found this, and it rings bells.

In Parallel Projection, you can select plan, or front elevation or side elevation and print each individually.

Thanks all...found it out with the help of Professor Maskery. Document Setup is the menu. Deselect Fit to Page. Print scale 25.4 in Drawing = 25.4min Model.

Now the clever bit ..you need to zoom in as tight as possible to the area your interested in printing out. Then shrink the size of the window to remove as much 'white' space unused around the model.

Now all I need do is find the Sellotape
