I view forums on PC as well as iphone. Is there a PC version?

TIA
Bob

For me, just that it's much less fiddly than using a browser when using on the iPhone on the move. No having to zoom in to see the icons etc as it's laid out to the screen size. Other than that there's no functionality benefits and I wouldn't us it over the browser on my Mac when sat in front of my machine.

Plasterboard panel lifter ordered. It's £100 to buy and £70+vat to hire so I'll buy and sell afterwards.

Just too hard getting the panels up to the ceiling height, held and screwed even with two people. Need 3 ideally but getting 3 people together at a time is proving difficult so bullet bitten. Hopefully arrives before weekend at which point I expect to complete the ceiling boarding in minutes... :D

A good decision Mark - I borrowed a friends who'd bought it for his improvements sometime ago. Made light work of the lifting. Friend sold it on for more than he'd paid for it!

Sorry for the late reply Bob, i missed the notification, which is somewhat ironic given what i'm about to say :)

For me, TT allows me to group clusters of forum posts from multiple forums (fora?) under one application. I can sign into the forum once via TT and browse the whole thing, subscribing to threads, or whole sub sections (to catch new posts) of interest.

The interface gives a phone-readable format which for some sites is a real bonus if they dont scale to phone displays well. It displays images well and allows me to reply to posts and link images, although habitually i used a 3rd party hosting for "real" posts and I doubt i'd post anything significant from it because typing on a KB is always easier. I think its great for keeping up to date with a thread bit by bit, rather than trawling 30+ posts of an evening.

The notifications are a big bonus too. In the time i've been typing this i've noted that Mike has updated his post and Andyp has commented on it and last week i was alerted to an incoming price drop on a TV i was looking at, so waiting another 12 hours netted close to £600 off the cost :)

I'm typing this post on a Chrome browser, so dont use it all the time, but for keeping up to date with posts on the go its a great help.

Sorry the reply was so late!

Thanks Dave
Some interesting points there but I already get notifications by email which gives me a list of things to keep up with. Given I mainly use a PC to view forums I feel tt would not give me much advantage. Viewing in the same way on all platforms seems easier to me

Thanks for your time responding

Not a problem mate, that's life. ;)

Had a quick setup and bash last night, because I'm putting the boards up vertically not horizontally this still isn't the whole answer because it's designed with all the additional supports for a horizontal board. When the board is mount upright it wants to fall backwards which isn't ideal so still need two people.

That being said, it only took SWMBO and I 15 mins to mount a board and get it into position and screwed in place, without any of the backbreaking of previous, so it will do the trick.

I'm off playing golf in Wales for the weekend for my mates 40th so will try and get some done this afternoon if possible, and tomorrow morning, otherwise it will be next week now, dammit!

So I'm getting sick of myself and my bloody procrastination, and so is my mate!

He called me up Tuesday and said "When are we getting this workshop of yours finished so I can have a play in it? I'm off on Thursday, get the day off and we'll get it sorted!"

So, here we are. I can't get the full day off but I've booked off from 1pm and not just one but 2 mates are heading over to get the ceiling finished and any other bits we can between us. Yay!

Expect pictures and excitement later this evening...

What was the problem with fitting the boards vertically ? I'm missing something. I can understand the need for a lifter for the ceiling but the walls ?

You are a cheeky young bunch of pups!

So I started later than planned because of a work issue.

Started at 2 and in 45 mins we had put up one board, removed 2 boards of 50mm insulation, retrofitted the table straps I had forgotten...and put the insulation back.

Then had to break to go and get kids from school. Back at it at 3:30 and have another 3 boards up by 5:30 when mate had to leave.

Logistics of moving piles of crap from one place to another added time into it but I feel like we've made a bit of progress and will get some more done tomorrow.

Not quite as much as I had hoped but nothing went easily so I'll take this as progress.

Got another board up with SWMBO's help last night and my mate is coming round over the weekend to see if we can't finish off the ceilings...

He is a Chief Inspector but in his previous life was a time served sparky so is going to sort out all my 'lectrics so will be scoping that out and writing me a shopping list. Any 'must have's' for me...?
