Some Old Tools

The place to talk about tools 'without tails', so come here with all your plane and chisel, burnisher and bradawl chatter.

Some Old Tools

Postby Rod » 03 Apr 2015, 12:27

With the Grandkids on holiday and a break in the weather, we took them to the RN Historic Dockyards in Portsmouth on Wednesday - mainly to see the Mary Rose.
Nice to see her again without being continuously sprayed and the Museum is fantastic with an amazing collection on extremely well presented, restored artefacts.
I took some photos of some of the tools which are housed in climate controlled cabinets so please excuse the glass reflections.

Yes Mark but worth a few days around there.
In the Dockyard area, as well as the Mary Rose, there's the Victory, Warrior, Submarine Museum etc etc.
Next door is Gun Wharf Quays which would keep shopaholics and foodies happy and nearby is Fort Nelson - part of the British Armouries ( and free entry). Spinnaker Tower and a trip to the Isle of Wight (Dinosaurs) are other attractions.
