Mother's Day

Postby Doug » 06 Mar 2016, 09:27

Got a request this morning for a wooden plant pot from SWMBO for a flower she had made for my Mother in Law.
Padauk was the most red timber I could find in the shop, here's the result.

Happy Mother's Day to any mothers out there.

Very nice - are the flowers made from paper?

I got a call from my mother this morning to say that she was in hospital, and could I fetch a bag of her stuff. I took a bunch of flowers, but they wouldn't let me take it in. We've never done mother's day, but there was something a little poignant about seeing mum in hospital, really quite unwell, on the same day that my wife is getting bouquets of flowers from our daughters.

That's sad news Mike I hope your Mum gets well soon.
Most Hospitals don't allow flowers in the wards anymore - hassle to look after, could spread germs and bad for patients with allergies.

Thanks Rod, the flower is fabric, my photography doesn't do it justice.

All the best for your mum Mike. Seems a shame that flowers are not allowed. They have always bought a smile whenever I have taken some in and must do a lot for morale.
I do not think therefore I do not am.

cheers
