Steve sorry I've been busy actually using the lovely wadkin lumps for the last 8 months. During that time I realised my workshop was a nightmare to make stuff in. I am just starting a workshop extension and will be thinning the herd so to speak. I have a lot of machines just waiting to be restored and I am having withdrawl from making rusty lumps look nice again. I did get this lovely little bench drill which is a very rare beast. It was built for the aircraft industry. I drove 600 miles to collect it. I just had to have it.

I also got a monster 30" disc and bobbin sander which is a bit rough but should be nice once done.

If you need a little fix, I made a little website just for fun. It has some usefull info if anyone wants to date there wadkin machines properly.

Wallace - I viewed the whole website , an inspiration and motivator . Just what I needed to drag me out of the post-Noel depression . Thanks once again .

I NEED to see this. Need, I say. My dad had a disc sander of about that size, and it was just about the most used tool in his workshop I reckon.

That is one hell of a disc sander, how easy is it to get abrasive big enough to fit, or do you have stick a number of bits on?
Regards,
Dave
My tool kit is almost complete, only a few more to get.

The wheelbarrow is helpful for scale. I assume you have a disused aircraft hanger for a workshop  .

Who needs abrasive? That wheel's surface looks like it would do a pretty good job on its own......

They came with a big clamp for gluing sand paper to the disc. I've got some paper from a big belt sander that I can cut up. I've already got a more reasonable size 14" disc sander and a bobbin sander in the workshop. This monster is purely to have fun with and then sell on and then I can buy more rusty stuff
