Hello from Milton Keynes

Postby Harv-53 » 01 Nov 2016, 18:55

Hello All
My name is Harvey and I'm a general builder, I've worked in the building trade for 34 years since leaving school, trained as a bricky first (soon got bored with that) then ground works and hard landscaping, a little bit of project management, that's when I discovered how bad a lot of site carpenters are so I decided to do some my self and that's where I found my interest wood work.
I'm now doing a house refurb mainly working on my own, I've done a fair bit of joinery there, all self taught so far.
I met a member of this forum a couple of weeks ago and he gave me a link to Mike G's mammoth extension and renovation thread which took me 2 weeks to get through. I thought I did some serious stuff on my own but I'm not a patch on Mike
Looking forward to going through a lot of the other threads on here, it's very helpful to have so much info available in one place

Welcome aboard Harvey. As you have made 3 posts already, there should be no delay for moderation to occur.

It will be handy to have another builder on board to take some of the strain off Mike.

Cheers
Bob

Welcome Harvey.

You don't want to come and take the strain off my back, do you? I've been laying bricks below ankle height for a couple of days now.....

Hope you enjoy the forum.

Thanks for the warm welcome guys.
Mike don't you just love low level brick work, I still do some brick laying but many years of doing footings and building upto dpc hasn't done my body any good
Hi Roger, thanks for the link to WH2, it'll keep me distracted of an evening while her ladyship watches all the dire cr*p on Tv
Richard I like your "legion of the lost" a great way to describe, MK, I've done a fair bit of work just up the road from you, I built 3 extensions on what is now a very large White House, every time I finished one they would go and get planning for another.

Hmm! I had to look that up. A 1950 film apparently. Even pre-dates me!
