Feeling a little guilty now...

Hang up your Chisels and Plane blades and take a load off with a recently turned goblet of your favourite poison, in the lounge of our Gentlemen's (and ladies) Club.

Feeling a little guilty now...

Postby TrimTheKing » 11 Jun 2018, 20:32

Spent some time yesterday, in between outdoor gardening jobs, when it got too hot, clearing the outbuilding out (can't bring myself to call it a workshop yet...) to make space for my mate to finish the electrics.

Shifted the scaffold tower up into the storage loft only to find this in between two of the boards that had been stacked together.

The door has been open for weeks so the owner must have found its way in and built the nest and laid in it.

Issue is, I was blissfully unaware until yesterday, and I shut and locked it up when we went on holiday to New York week before last...

The owner must have been out so I imagine the eggs haven't been sat on for 2 weeks now so I imagine they are no more! :(

I've left the door open again just in case mummy wants to return but I'm skeptical.

Anyone got any idea what it might be...?
Cheers

I have seen something like that before called a bird's nest, so I would guess it's one of those.

It is a bit sad, but you had no way of knowing so don't beat yourself up about it. If it makes you feel better I have a robin's nest in the eves of mine. I am having to wait until they are finished before enclosing the eves.

I had a Robin nest in the greenhouse in one of the plant pots a few week ago.
OK, I thought , I can keep from starting the seeds for a week or two while they hatch.
Trying to be helpful, I put a fatball and a tub of water in there so they didn't have to search far for food.
a couple of days later I had a peep, but it seems rodents had come for the food and ate the eggs too :-(
It does make you feel guilty :(

Haha, no excuses, I’m just not in any rush and have a life full of other things that are more pressing to complete first.
