The Mad Hatters Tea Party

Hang up your Chisels and Plane blades and take a load off with a recently turned goblet of your favourite poison, in the lounge of our Gentlemen's (and ladies) Club.

The Mad Hatters Tea Party

Postby Pinch » 22 May 2020, 19:57

This might go somewhere, or it might not.

I don't know about you chaps, but as I get older, my likes or passions have changed. I get very excited about food these days and I enjoy preparing/cooking it too. I used to often find eating an inconvenience when I was younger, mainly because I was always on the go. I remember saying to a colleague last year who mentioned something smutty - "I get more excited about a darn good kebab with all the trimmings these days!"

Anyway, less rambling! 8-)

Hats!

Yes, hats! Or indeed... any item of clothing or accessory that you really like - could be a hat, a jacket, waistcoat, shoes or boots, ties, bow ties, watch, jewelry or whatever it is you enjoy wearing.

I like hats - have done for years. I like looking at them too, which is why I made the recent Three Musketeers' Hat Rack - holding a Fedora, a Boater and a Baker Boys' Cap.

I like many other items of clothing too including waistcoats, quality shoes & boots, a quality tweed jacket, handkerchiefs, other accessories including watches, pocket watches, a flower in a hat etc. I'm thinking about treating myself to a top hat, bowler hat and a silver emerald ring, plus, I've managed to save myself enough teak from the Sideboard Project to make me a new stick!! :D

I've never been a fashionable dresser or a trend follower. I used to be a wacky dresser, but Mrs P has calmed that one down over the years.

Whatever it is you like, post up a piccie - only if you want to of course.

Who knows, inspirations could flow here... I feel good vibes are coming.

Clearly a need for isolation, It's a touch of Jacob Rees Mog Virus.
You will shortly be seeking to buy a stage coach.

  Indeed.

An old horse-drawn stage coach would be something. I live in an old coaching inn and the old coach house is next door.

Cragside? Thank you Rob. That's not a kick in the gluteals away from us; didn't realise it was there, being 'blow-ins' an' all. Will put it firmly on the list to be visited (whenever 'tis possible).

Pickwick Rees Mogg - I must admit it has a certain ring to it.
This could be a symptom we've not heard about, it makes life easier though, never mind social distancing, just avoid the nuts in strange hats.

It's a really fascinating place Sam; we went there for a couple of hours but I could have quite easily spent the whole day nosing around; little bit of info here about it.

For the record, we have now had three months without hardly any rain. Starting to get worried that the beck that gives us all water may dry up.

Yes, I do believe it does - very good.

I did say to my good lady... "All this lockdown business is starting to tease out another facet of my personality!" "Hmm, can't say I've noticed." She replied.

This one falls into the 'Steampunk' category - I like it. Not too over-the-top. 8-)
