Hello from Scotland

Postby TheHammer » 29 Aug 2020, 15:31

Good afternoon team

I hope you are all well in these uncertain times.

I stumbled across this page a few years ago and became hooked with the workshop builds and the level of knowledge and helpfulness of the members. This has kept me coming back.

I am from North Ayrshire on the west coast of Scotland, Woodworking and general DIY has always been my passion and since buying my 50s bungalow several years ago my enthusiasm (and tool collection) has grown.

I have built a summerhouse down the bottom of my garden (hopefully share with you soon), mostly designed from information on this page and I’m currently retro-fitting my brick garage into a workshop and have a few questions I’d like to lean on you for advice.

Cheers
Alan

Hi Alan and welcome

Look forward to seeing your summer house and whatever you make in the future. Lovely part of the world you’re from, I live just outside Manchester but was brought up in my early years in Dumfries and am currently celebrating our wedding anniversary not too far from you in Edinburgh.

Love Scotland and have very many great childhood memories.
Cheers

15 years mate, on 28th.

My wedding suit (kilt) still fits perfectly too and still gets an outing a couple of times a year.

Only here for one more night mate and booked into the Witchery tonight but we’ll be back up in a few weeks so definitely up for a few more suggestions for next time.

Hi Alan, welcome from me too. I know N. Ayrshire reasonably well, in that I have both b and b'ed there in the past, but also drove up through it every year for nearly 30 years on my way north to thevHighlands. Greetings from an Ulster Celt.
