Greetings from Dronfield

Postby garno » 16 Sep 2020, 18:02

Hi everyone,

Happy to see a few familiar faces in here :D

As some of you know I am awful at woodwork but slowly improving, so expect lots of Noobie questions, all I ask is to take me as you find me and not to take anything I say to heart. I would like to think I am a genuine person but due to my illnesses I have a tendency to lack tact these days, not all of the time but it is increasing.

And on that note I am happy to be here and hope I can give some positive input as my skills grow.

In reality Mike I think it will be a struggle for me to finish it this side of Christmas, I have taken down all of the racking and almost cleared the worktop.

Once cleared I will order a couple of sheets of 18mm MDF and start on the cupboards, I hope to put some photos up in here of the whole thing, the before, during and after photos along with an explanation on how I managed to do it.

Whilst I am not in any great rush to do if I really would like it done within six months.

Might be worth a quick look at the Member's Map, Gary, and see if there is anyone else in your area. I'm sure they'd give you a hand if there was.

I'm sure someone would answer the call Mike But I am hesitant to ask.

1) If no one answered the call it would adversely affect me.

2) In life I am a big believer in trying something and to never give up trying to complete it.

3) Sense of achievement, this is a massive job for me and the rewards far outweigh the effort. It would take someone a full day (maybe a day and a half) to do where as I know it will be Christmas doing it on my own, I hope I can finish it before hand otherwise the secret Santa I have to gift will be a little disappointed :D

4) Pride
5) Pride
6) Pride

The above Mike are all reasons and not excuses and I know you only mentioned it with my best interests uppermost in your mind, I thankyou for that.

I had a quick look at the members map on your behalf and it rather looks like there are a dearth of members closeby.
