Sanding belts

Here's the place to talk about all your table saws, bandsaws, routers and dust extractors. In fact anything that makes noise and uses electrickery.

Sanding belts

I'm just about out, and the belts I've always bought seem to have shot up in price. Where do you guys buy your belt sander belts? I'm after boxes of 10 at least, rather than buying them 3 at a time as my Builders Merchant wants.

I get through a lot, especially 40 grit and 80 grit. I tend to buy them on-line (Amazon, though I am cutting back on adding to Mr Bezos fortune). I also get them from Brewers decorating supplies when they have them on offer (Mirka).

I will post a link if I can find my last order. I think you and I have the same belt sander.

Ah. They came from Alldrew Ltd, and were as good as Makita own brand but way cheaper. However, their website shows nothing available for 4" by 24".

Thanks Adrian. I'll watch them, and Brewers (with whom I have an account).

Hard to get in the UK, but if anyone every comes across the 3M purple belts, that are very good indeed. Easily found in the US, but sadly not here.

Yup - 3M abrasives are very very good.

Yes! We used to be able to get MMM locally years ago at big box stores.
Sadly no more and we more than likely get China-rejects. :(
