Hey ho...time to read a book (or three)

Hang up your Chisels and Plane blades and take a load off with a recently turned goblet of your favourite poison, in the lounge of our Gentlemen's (and ladies) Club.

Hey ho...time to read a book (or three)

Officially now given up trying to get anything done having been let down badly by the local builders merchants. I really feel sorry for the trades trying to do anything. It's impossible to get anything.

Well only essential workers should be out there anyway. Obviously not worth opening for homeowners?

Delivery. Failed delivery. Not going out to the branch. And the delivery was ordered and supposed to be delivered BEFORE the lockdown. In fact when the order was placed, there was no lockdown.

Jewsons are still delivering to existing trade customers. So are Dove's. Travis (with whom I have a trade account) are not. Wickes is doing a roaring online trade but now out of a lot of stock.

And as you missed it, hardware stores are allowed to remain open.

Ian at Tuffsaws tells me that he is unable to take orders or ship anything. Yep Axminster still can apparently.
I do not think therefore I do not am.

cheers

There's absolutely no reason why Ian shouldn't that I can see.

Yes it’s all a bit odd at the moment. I ordered bread flour a week ago and it’s still not arrived although marked as dispatched. My wife ordered wild bird seed yesterday and it arrived today. Many Amazon deliveries seem to have delays, including Prime. They did say this was to prioritise on things like food items but they don’t actually seem to have much of that in stock.
