• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

Hi All

New to the forum and relatively new to what I would call "proper" woodwork, although I've built a few projects out of wood in the past including a car port and then a shed extension... but that was before I really knew what I was doing, even if they did turn out OK.

My aspiration is to making new things that are functional, aesthetically pleasing, and technically well designed and built - mainly in the form of small boxes.

See you in the main threads.

Thank you Andy

I'll make sure to entertain you all with pictures of projects, including flaws, so I can invoke both smiles and advice for improvements.

"Genetically, a chimera is an organism containing cells from two or more distinct genetic sources."..... supporter of London Irish are you Mark?

Two or more...

How about four?

Paternal Grandad. Scots-Irish descent.
Paternal Gran. Scots.
Maternal Grandad. Ukrainian.
Maternal Gran. English.

I was going for the dreamlike vision definition but yours works well enough :)

Lost in my daydreams.

Wherrzat please? That
arete on the right is strikingly familiar!

Ben Arthur. The Cobbler. The arete tops out at the needle sometimes known as the Cobbler's Last.
View is over Loch Long.

Here's another view looking onto Loch Lomond. Head of Loch Long just visible and the Loch Long Hotel/Arrochar. The slope just visible on the left is the east face of the South Peak:

Thank you!! Knew I'd been on it. Many years ago, I "threaded the needle". Below zero, ice coating everything and crampons skiteing very easily if you didnt consider placement. Got a photo somewhere. Definitely day for close ropeing and a bloody solid anchor, preferably threaded.

I've only ever threaded the needle in good weather. Even then it pumps ma nads.

I like the wavy fence and lattice.

Bought not built...
I just did the installation.

In fact, very recently replaced by new posts and panels of the same design. After building the EV charger plinth.

Plus I'm now in the process of building a new garden store, the materials were delivered last Friday.
