• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

Recently purchased both Kity benchsaw 1619 & spindle moulder 1629 i have found that the sliding table attacment fits the bench saw but appears to be to small in lenght to fit to the side of the spindle moulder which i am suprised at as the mounting studs are the same on both machines. I have added pictures firstly showing the rails that the table slides on fitted to the benchsaw then the machine mounted frame that carrys the table slides trying to be fitted to the spindle moulder, i circled the mounting points and fitting lugs which are about 40mm away from where id expect them to be when trying to fit to the spindle moulder.
Hope this makes sense and somone can shed some light on the issue for me.

Hi Tony

Not sure it helps but my distant memory says it was a straight forward fit though there might have been additional mounting brackets. We stocked the machines but I never put one together or demonstrated it.
I have a pdf copy of the 619 / 1619 saw if you don't have one, unfortunately not for the 1629 however.

Are you sure that is the correct sliding table attachment for the 1629? The only sliding tables I've seen for the 1629 or 629 have the two guide rails close to the chassis and spaced apart vertically instead of horizontally.

I attached two screenshots of a Kity 629 from a German vendor showing the sliding table attached. The slide attachment does not look like the attachment for your saw. The sliding table below is very similar to the sliding table for my Elektra Beckum TF904 SM.

I had a kity table saw with the sliding carriage as you show (tubular bars) but later sold it to move on to a SCM table saw. I later purchased a Kity spindle moulder with the more modern sliding table as shown above (solid aluminium rail) which I think was introduced by scheppach, the company that took over kity.

I would think that somewhere during the redesign the mounting positions where altered. You might be able to get some plates made to acommodate the difference in bolt positions so you can swap over the sliding carriage. Or just drill the holes where your blue circles show and add more mounting bolts or move over the existing bolts to fix the problem. Regards Mark

Hi Bob, apologies for the late reply i was in need of sleep. Not sure if this makes a massive difference the machine could well be a 629 no "1" anyway i do have the handbooks now and it shows a aluminium beam arrangement which is a tidier option but for me and the fact the machines where all used to together I was expecting a direct fit. Its not a massive issue I can re attach the studs to suit the frame but i just wanted to check see if i was over looking something.
Thanks
Tony

Thanks for your replys guy, Mark yes this is why i have asked as my handbook shows the arrangement you have pointed out which is a tidier affair. I think i will look out for a used arrangement using the aluminium beam may well be worth contacting the guy i purchased them from is case something left behind. I will add something to the sliding carriage i have rather that change the fittings on the chassis.
Thanks again for your valued comments

I have not seen any of the kity sliding tables come up for sale and I have been looking for several years. When I had my Kity saw with sliding table I made an attachment to go on my Rojek spindle moulder so I could use the sliding part on bth my Kity saw and Rojek spindle but when I sold the Kity saw I had to let the sliding table go with it. I did look for years for a kity sliding table for my Rojek spindle moulder but none came up so when I eventually sold my Kity spindle moulder I kept the sliding carriage and adapted it to fit on my Rojek spindle moulder.

As scheppach took over kity it may be worth looking out for both Kity and scheppach sliding carriages to fit your spindle as they may well be the same.

I like the Kity machines they are a really good machine for trade or top end DIY woodwork.

My Rojek spindle moulder with Kity sliding carriage.

All I did was drill the holes for the brackets in the fromt plate of the Rojek and adjust it to line up with the table.

On the right is my original Kity 623 spindle moulder which I have had for many years now. The Kity 623 spindle moulder has a smaller footprint than the Kity 1629 Kity spindle moulder but still has the same 2Hp motor. My kity 623 also has a sliding table which I use when machining cabinets with my Freud and Omas cabinet door cuttersets. The Rojek has a 3Hp motor which can fit a 100mm cutterblock for larger moulds.

Above is what I made to use on the Rojek when I had my original Kity table saw with tubular rails. The carriage is just some steel box section, angle iorn and tubular rails welded together and the angle iron section just slid on top ot the rojek table and bolted to some original bolt holes locatione at the side of the table. I kept it while looking for a Kity sliding table but none came up. It was so handy being able to slide the carriage between the saw and spindle.
