• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

Sat on couch with mrs and phone gets a few text pings off the trot. Its off the bank saying theres unusual activity on my card. I goes on the banking app to find 4 payments to bet365 totaling £270. Freeze card quickly.
I was just warning mrs that she shouldnt click on any links via facebook especially ones selling handbags at great prices.

Not so good.

Does your bank refund these fraudulent transactions?
Do you replace card with new one & new number?

☹️ How did they get the card details Wallace? Did she try to buy a handbag?
There are some extremely dodgy ads on facebook who aren't in the least interested in removing them.

Good that it got picked up quickly but it doesn’t make it any more palatable for you and Mrs Wallace.

A good way to reduce the risk of card fraud is to try and use Apple or Google Pay as opposed to a physical card or putting details on a payment systems.

Alongside the likes of Facebook doing the right thing the big bookmakers could also do a lot more to stop their accounts being used as mules.

sorry to hear this, I hope you get the money back, they really are scumbags, when I got money stolen I kept pushing the bank to give me the details of the hacker and IP address but they couldn't do it, even though they probably know, go to the bank and talk to a manager they should be able to quickly sort you out.

Yes if they look out of normal from your usual activity, one had gone through but the other three were pending because the bank had frozen the card already. Thats pretty good I think.

Dont know Bob, but I highly suspect wifes phone activity. I'm not blameless though I did buy something from tiktok a while back.

My town doesnt have any banks anymore, we did have 7 but apparently people dont use them anymore. We are getting a banking hub but it can only deal with certain things
Anyway all sorted now, new card on its way.

I use a revolut card a lot for online stuff, they offer the ability to use a one time virtual card. Activate it on the app use it for your purchase then it disappears never to be used again. it means all I need to do is move enough into teh account to cover my purchase and once the transaction is complete the card details are destroyed so useless if anyone tries to use it again.
