• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

Your whole day can turn really quickly

Oh bloody hell Pete, that's a real pity. Hope you manage to get some sleep tonight.

My experience of these things is that if the tendon is severed the operation is needed urgently, otherwise the muscle can shrink back and the tendon can whither, meaning a re-connection is difficult to impossible. Don't let anyone dilly-dally.

Oh no. That is not good. Seems like you are vying with me for being accident prone! Hope the repair goes well.

Ouch that looks really painful.
You might win a knobbly knees contest though Pete. :eusa-whistle:

Blimey Pete that doesn’t look good.
I’ll p/m you tomorrow , hope you get some rest tonight

Thanks Jim.
I have some pain killers to take so hopefully I should sleep.

Pete

They will ring me the night before I need to go in and have the operation, no phone call tonight unfortunately.

Pete

Strewth, Pete, that's rough! Hope you get the treatment you need, pronto.

I have just had a phone call and I am going in for the operation tomorrow, I have to ring first thing tomorrow to confirm, just in case an emergency case comes in and knocks me down the list.

Pete

Sounds nasty Pete, and without wanting to sound nastier, I’m struggling to tell which knee is the bad one…!

I’m guessing the left knee because of the stark angle above the patella, but the other one looks mighty swollen too!

I hope Pete remembered to write in indelible ink on his right knee cap 'NOT THIS ONE'! It's important. When I went for my second cataract operation and read the Consent Form that detailed the operation, they'd written the wrong eye down.

When a friend went in for an op she used a marker to write on her stomach " please take some off here" then an arrow to her breasts "and put it here" They didn't! :eusa-naughty:

In recovery feeling groggy but no pain

Pete

Great stuff, Pete. I hope it has gone well. Now, you've got to follow precisely what you're told to do by the physio. The rehab is as important as the operation.

Good news.

100% agree with Mike on rehab. Three years ago I had an accident with an excavator (chucked through front of cab) and needed quite a bit of physio plus numerous exercises at home daily. She said patients always say they will do the exercises but 80% of them don't do them properly, enough or at all. Hence they don't recover full range of movement. I was a good boy and got full movement back. Hope you feel better soon.

I'm glad you got it attended to quickly. I hope you make a rapid recovery.

I will do the physio properly, I need to get back to the gym and lifting weights.

Pete
Good to hear it all went well, but has the physioterrorist told you to lift weights? If he/she has, crack on. If not, don't under any circumstances til you get the 'green light' - Rob

Please check you dont also need to see a physio before you leave, if you have your first appointment before you go home then there are no issues with you referral.
