Hello from new user!

Postby idlehands » 09 Jan 2022, 14:07

Hello all,
James here, long time viewer of the site, felt it was time to join and hopefully pick some brains!
Based in Cambridgeshire, just moved into new property with large land. So finally going to achieve my dream and build a dedicated workshop.
I'll be posting some questions over on the workshop section, I hope you can take a look.

Welcome James,
As you are possibly aware we have some of the best workshop builders on here, all willing to share experiences and advise.
If you care to put up some outline plans/sketches and ask any questions you might have at an early stage and I'm sure you will be successful.
A couple more posts will get rid of the moderation delay and your posts should appear immediately

Welcome James.

Good to hear of another possible workshop build. When you've got past 3 posts you'll be allowed to post photos, so how about a picture or two of the location?

Welcome James. Enjoy your workshop build. Remember, when you plan it, you will always need it to be at least twice as big as you first thought. Build your wife a garden shed first so that she can't lay claim to half your workshop. DAMHIKT.

Edit: I see you are building a 12m by 6m shop. Maybe don't double that

Don't like: wood, engines, electrickery, decorating, tiling, laying stone, plumbing, gardening or any kind of DIY. Not wild about spiders either.

Welcome James, you are now entering an extremely enjoyable (even if it is hard work) enterprise. Very best of luck – not that you need it with the brains on here! Ian
