Hi
I’m a long term lurker on this forum.
Retired now, putting my time in with small projects.
I have a small bandsaw to help with resaw but work mainly with hand tools.
I started using hand tools when I was working and couldn’t use noisy power tools in the evening.
Cutting grooves and rebates with a plane and then sweeping up the shavings is so much more satisfying than getting on full on PPE to use a router and ending up with a layer of fine dust everywhere.
I pretend I’m not a collector but I have more plough planes than strictly necessary.
I used to own a Record 044 and a Stanley 50, sold off when I found a Record 405.
I’ve since acquired a Stanley 13-050, Stanley 55, Record 043, and Stanley 46. Latest purchase was a Mitor 88.
I know, how many ways do you need to cut a rebate (and I have a Stanley 78 as well but I use that as a scrub)
Regards
Jim
