No, they wont work. I'm making an outside TV box, wall mounted, for a friend. I was going to make side hinged swing open doors, just like mine which he saw and said was fine for him.
Now we get into the build and he tells me he doesnt have enough side room to have opening doors W.T.F?
Now I have to come up with either a lift up or drop down cover. But we are talking 900 mm x 550 mm, and even in 9 mm ply thats an awful lot of weight up in the air on a spring. Factor in that sometimes its damn windy in the evenings, and that lid could go up and down like a yo yo unless its locked in the up position.
Droogs, thats the idea, but those need you to actually stick your fingers in there to push the bars up to allow it to drop.
Consider the captive audience here, OAP ex - pats, outside in the dark trying to lock up the TV before staggering off to bed all the worse for wear
and the chances of someone losing a finger is too great to consider.
I need the fully automatic (mechanically automatic) lift a bit higher and lower it down.
