Absolutely speechless, I was going to say, I’m in love, but that would be facetious.
What an incredibly tough little woman, she must’ve been up and down those trees hundreds of times, and her feet must be made of tin, she didn’t just build a bath either it was a swimming pool! Loved the kitchen door and the dyed mat as well. Incredible that she built it all from the land around her. Thanks so much for that. Ian

Utterly brilliant!

Even assuming I could get up and down those ladders, if I tried it carrying that machete I'd have lost a number of toes, a hand and several vital organs.

I'll make my daughter watch this

Well worth a look, but doesn't it also show what's frustrating about YouTube.

It's great to be shown that this sort of construction is possible, but there's no context or explanation. Is this a re-enactment of a past way of life or is it for real, to be lived in long term? Do lots of people live like this or is it effectively a play-house for someone? Where is it?

What's the relationship (inc financial) between the builder, the video makers and the YouTube channel?

Yes, but at least we have seen someone who makes MikeG look like a slacker.

(No offence meant Mike, by the way. I am in no position to criticise anyone).

My b.i.l's friend in NZ had a beautiful self built bungalow, every atom of the materials used he carried up ninety three steps.

There’s a challenge Mike. How quickly can you build a treehouse?
I do not think therefore I do not am.

cheers

But unlike our little female friend Mike would obviously have to work out the weight of water and all that gumbo that made up the bath, that’s a hell of a lot of weight on those sticks which are just banged into a hole in the ground, could be nasty if it started to go over.
It hadn’t occurred to me really but Andy T is so right, we don’t even know which country it was, Vietnam?

One of the best female woodmanglers I used to follow was Kari Hultman in the USA who wrote a very entertaining blog called ‘The Village Carpenter’

http://villagecarpenter.blogspot.com/

She used to do some very nice stuff and had a fully equipped ‘shop, but for some bizarre reason she suddenly stopped doing woodwork, took up making stuff with leather and now doesn’t do that any more - Rob

I believe the channel is based in Viet Nam. From what I have seen of it, it seems to be set up by locals who enjoy making traditional buildings but also incorporating modern western ideas into them.

That's amazing.
My 7 year old son has shown me loads of that channel's videos, particularly the fascinating underground swimming pool ones.
