Treatment for drawer runners

What do members recommend for applying to beech runners to aid the drawers sliding? I have some clear Liberon Wax Polish which I thought may be suitable.

+1 same stub of candle I rub on my plane, lots of them littered across my bench, also useful when rubbed on spills used for lighting the fire. Ian

While we're on 101 uses for candle wax, should you address an envelope with a less than water-resistant pen and worry about it running in the rain, a rub over with plain candle wax will protect it.
