A new one to me

The place to talk about tools 'without tails', so come here with all your plane and chisel, burnisher and bradawl chatter.

A new one to me

I’ve been helping a mate today reorganise his workshop whilst moving stuff around I came across this

It has a small thick blade not unlike a plane blade.

It is hand cranked

He told me what he thought it was for but it wasn’t something I’d never heard of & I wondered if anyone had come across one before or knew about them?

Its a letterpress mitre cutter. Very cool but its missing its v block.

Its for cutting the borders around lettwr boxes.

I agree with Dave.
I've seen a few on eBay, often mis-described or with a guess at what they are.
