Oh my goodness! I assume you've used pre-cut veneers in the glue-up, either side of something like sycamore or maple. To achieve that sort of neatness in something which I assume is coopered is seriously impressive.

Very basic really Mike. no need for undue finesse along the way, the rough stuff just gets turned away, just need a bit of care and attention on joint fits.

I like a contrast if possible to add visual impact to simpler constructions Derek, just one way of trying to make up for my lack of post turning embellishment skills.
Not always possible from existing stores unfortunately but I daren't contemplate any purchases with so much stock lying around.

When I work up enough courage to get back in the workshop and to hold sharp tools in front of fast spinney machines that will be my first project. Target date set before Christmas.
