Willow pencil pot

I can’t match Chas in either lathe work nor camera skills.

Willow from the garden. Walnut spots added to hide a knot.

A pen and pencil set in yew to go with the pot still to be done.

I like the close fit of the walnut plugs and the tidy base, attention to detail and that little extra effort that make the difference.

Chas , a Veritas 10mm tapered cutter was used, guaranteed to make a tight fit.

Give it a go Doug. Means a bit more when the donor tree is in the garden.

I do not know if those flecks are inherent in the grain or spalting. I did a slightly large pot a year or so back.
