I have just come off a fuchsia forum and the topic carving or turning Fuchsia wood came up.
Anyone here have any experience of either,
Thank you,

be interesting to hear a reply to ur question....
my lathes are still packed but collecting wood all ready....lol....

I have a weed type tree here..nasty stuff as it has thorns at least 50mm plus...def not Acacia....never gets tall, so the trunk is often no bigger than 4" in diameter...very hard and dense wood..must find out what it is sometime.....
Also have a few wild Almond trees....fruit is rubbish but could be interestin for pens or a big glue up....
plus there is a lot of Eualiptus gere must try and get some for working.....
Lastley our fire wood is Olive.....bloxxdy shame to cut that stuff up.....
anyway, when they deliver there is often a pink to red wood in the same load....
cant ask what it is, language prob.....it's def a hard wood....
have split some in case the the colour change when exposed but it red thrughout.....
does fade a little if kept in the sun but it does come back when sprayed with water....
would post a photo but never found out how....and I have tried many times....
I need click n drag....hahaha....
