Thanks Derek, the finish is described as gun metal. I was going to do the pencil like that and the pen in chrome to make differentiation easy but was told not to.

Thank you Robert. Willow, it’s a weeping variety, has certainly provided some interesting grain details in the stuff I have harvested and turned.

Here is a cookie jar I made a few years back from the same tree. The lid was beech IIRC.
