The Alphabet Puzzles

This is out of the same book as the Solitaire games.

The letters are:

T
K
E
H
F
6-Piece_Cross

Don’t kid yourself into thinking they are easy-peasy. ;)

Each piece is marked with the letter. Just to make it more interesting, the marks are not all on the face side of the piece when assembled!

When I find a round-tuit I will develop some more letters.

Size - the longest piece is 110mm, all a standard width of 35mm except the cross with 2 pieces at 25mm.
Set the table saw up and run a few lengths of 35mm wide. 20mm Thick
(Used SA-Crap Pine)

The whole lot was cut out on the scrollsaw, so some of the 45 degrees are slightly off. Makes no difference. The RAS was also used to cut off some of the longer pieces, to fit on the scroll saw table.
If you plan the cutting carefully, you cut out a whole lot of the small triangles used in some of the letters.

I'm too lazy with lots of little pieces like that to make all the edges safe for little hands with sandpaper, cleaning one by one.

Just wondering if you've come up with and easy way to deburr everything?

Thinking of trying a bag with bits of sandpaper and the pieces and just shaking it for a while. Prob won't work :)

Guess there's those stone polisher tumbler things..

These are still a reasonable size to sand.

I mounted my sander in a jig, clamp in the vice, and then sand.

Have you looked at a zero clearance insert? The big Hegner has a large opening which just lends itself to burrs.

Maybe Gill can pass on some advice?

Zero clearance inserts are a good idea. You can make one simply by taping a business card in place.

Possibly a sacrificial piece of hardboard attached to the bottom of the wood might reduce burring?

I will definitely look at doing something before I do any more puzzles.
First priority is to finish off the dust extractor
