I can't lay claim to the observers medal! I spotted the fault on the dial but completely missed Andyps post which had already noted the problem.

Regardless of the numerals, I love the big question mark, and the fact that the clock is held in place by the spring of the wood. If I tried that, I expect it would break along the grain at some point.

My secret weapon to stop the grain breaking away is that the question mark is made of an off cut from a laminated bandsaw box.
There are actually three pieces of beech, laminated together.
You can just see them in this close up
